Cultivate friendship which will conquer all hearts, Look upon others as thyself, Renounce war, Forswear Competition, Give up aggression on others which is wrong, Wide Mouth Earth, Our mother is here, ready to give us all our desires We have the Lord, our Father, Compassionate to all Ye Peoples of the world, restrain yourself, give, be kind May all people be happy and prosperous.
Song History & Reason to choose
This benediction was composed by His Holiness Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swamy, the Sage of Kanchi, and Known to all Indians as the “Paramacharya”. Acharya has given advice in this song for World Peace. It was rendered at the United Nations on Oct. 23, 1966 on the occasion of the UN day, by Bharat Ratna Smt. M.S.Subbulakshmi.
In respect of “Maitreem Bhajata”, the three “da”s, damyata, datta and dayadhvam represent qualities which humanity should nurture forever. Hence this Wonderful song is chosen as School Prayer song in-order to inculcate the humanity among the sprouting buds to face the World tomorrow.
